Veteran Striker “Finally” Reaches the 100 Goal Milestone

Malibu United sit at the top of the table at the half way mark in the Santiago League.

The boys in blue are a perfect 5-0 with a ridiculous 54 goals for and 8 goals against. Youth team call up Munny Manak leads the team in both goals and assists. The youngster has 16 goals and 13 assists. Striker Gabe Bonetti is second on goals scorers chart with 8, netting 5 today in Malibu’s decisive win over Esquire FC.
Damon Manak follows his younger sibling on the assists chart with 9.

The team picked up two new players this season with several players departing at the end of the fall season. Gigi Livanos and Francisco Coco have fit perfectly in United’s attacking midfield, combining for 10 between both of them.

United’s game today also saw another milestone as striker Dave Keffer recorded his 100th goal for the club. The veteran striker joined the team on a free transfer from Malibu Soccer Club numerous years ago and has been a staple in the team’s offence. The veteran striker was sitting on the 99 goals plateau for the last two games and was finally about to crack 100 in today’s win. His teammates jeered him as the Esquire FC keeper easily saved his first 11 shots. The ever-persistent goal scorer finally beat the keeper after being fed a gimme from Carlos Otero, luckily for Keffer his goal beat the clock as it was the last kick of the game.

The team looks to continue their win streak next week as they take on the Swamp Donkeys.
